BD launches Natoinal Emergency Service Dailing Code 999
Bangladesh Govt. officially national help Desk Service short dialing code 999 for the countrymen . Are you in Emergency? Just Dial 999 from any BD mobile number even at a zero Balance. This is a toll free number which is internationally known as emergency number.
Prime Minister’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy will inaugurate the expanded national emergency services across the country using toll free phone number 999 on Tuesday. Joy will formally inaugurate the services at a function at Police Control Room at Abdul Gani Road here around 11 am, said an official release of Police Headquarters. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will attend the function as the chief guest.
The services are provided under the national help desk, which has been set up at a cost of Tk 60.50 crore. In the past, dialing 100 would connect to Bangladesh Police, 101 to Rapid Action Battalion, 102 to fire services, 103 to ambulance service and 104 to the Access to Information Programme under the Prime Minister's Office.
Primarily 999 National Emergency Service will provide three important sevices for the people - (i) Police Service, (ii). Fire/ Civil Defense Service, (iii). Ambulance Service,
